What this site collects, what it deliberately does not, and how to ask us about any of it.

Last updated: 18 September 2026

The short version

This website has no contact form, no accounts, no shop and no newsletter. It sets no cookies at all until you answer the cookie banner. If you never touch it, this site stores nothing on your device and we learn nothing about you beyond the ordinary server records every website keeps.

Who we are

Luminary is a product of Harri Digital Ltd, which is the data controller for this website.

  • Harri Digital Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 17032672
  • 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ
  • General enquiries: [email protected]
  • Data protection requests: [email protected]

We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK's data protection regulator.

What we collect

If you accept cookies

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used: which pages people read, roughly where in the world they are, and which site or search sent them. It is loaded only after you press "Accept all". The cookie policy lists the cookies by name and lifetime.

With the same permission we use Google's advertising features, which let us show our ads to people who have visited this site while they are on other websites, and measure whether those ads worked. This is aimed at the charities, hospices and clubs we work with rather than at individuals, and we do not use it to identify you.

If you choose "Essential only", none of this loads and your browser never contacts Google at all.

If you write to us

If you email either address above, we hold your message and your email address for as long as it takes to deal with it and to keep an ordinary record of our business correspondence. We do not add you to a mailing list.

What happens regardless

Like every website, ours records requests as they arrive. Our hosting provider and our CDN keep access records containing your IP address, the time, the page you asked for, your browser's user-agent string and the page that referred you. These exist to keep the site running and to defend it from abuse.

Two details worth stating because they are not obvious:

  • Search terms appear in the address bar, so a search on this site is recorded in those access records the same way any other page request is. The application itself does not store your searches anywhere.
  • The revenue calculator works entirely in your browser. The figures you move the sliders to are not sent to us or stored, although with JavaScript turned off they travel in the URL so the page can be recalculated on the server.

Our application's own log records errors only, not ordinary page views, and those logs are rotated and deleted after seven days.

Our lawful bases

  • Consent for analytics and advertising. You give it at the banner and can withdraw it at any time.
  • Legitimate interests for keeping the site available, secure and free from abuse, and for replying to you when you write to us.

Who else is involved

We keep this list short on purpose.

  • Cloudflare - delivers and protects the site. Every request passes through it.
  • Cloudways (DigitalOcean) - hosts the site on servers in London.
  • Google - Google Analytics and Google's advertising features, and only once you have accepted them.

We do not sell your information, and we share it with no one beyond the providers above.

Some things that are commonly third parties here are deliberately not: our typefaces are served from our own servers rather than from Google Fonts, so loading a page on this site does not tell a font provider you were here. There are no embedded videos, no social media widgets and no tracking pixels.

Where your information goes

The site is hosted in London. Analytics data is collected through Google's European endpoint and may be processed by Google outside the UK under the safeguards in Google's own terms.

How long we keep things

  • Analytics - as set on the Google Analytics property; we hold no separate copy.
  • Emails you send us - as long as needed to deal with your message and keep ordinary business records.
  • Application error logs - seven days.
  • Hosting and CDN access records - according to those providers' own retention periods.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us to give you a copy of any personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or transfer it elsewhere. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Write to [email protected] and we will reply within one month.

In practice we hold very little: unless you have emailed us, there is usually nothing here that identifies you.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, but we would rather you told us first so we can put it right.

Children

This site is aimed at charities, hospices and clubs rather than at children, and we do not knowingly collect information about anyone under 16.

Changes

If we change this policy we will change the date at the top. If a change is significant we will say what it was.
